Singer, Songwriter and actor Jesse McCartney visited Good Day New York to talk about his new movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” and his role as Theodore.

McCartney’s platinum-selling status began in 2004 with his first album, Beautiful Soul which sold over 1.5 million copies. The first single, of the same name, attracted millions of listeners and topped the charts in the U.S and Internationally.

As a young artist, McCartney knows the value of giving back to the community performing at various benefit concerts, becoming an official supporter of Little Kids Rock, a nonprofit that provides free musical instruments and lessons to children in need, as well as donating proceeds of his 2005 tour for the Asian Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina disaster relief, and becoming a spokesperson for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Teen stars come and go, but few come back again. Jesse McCartney is one of those few.

By 2004 the then-16-year-old singer/actor already had earned two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for his work on All My Children (1998-2001), co-starred on the television series Summerland (2004-2005), joined the boy band Dream Street and scored a smash hit with his debut solo album, Beautiful Soul (2004), which featured the blockbuster title track.
